Volunteering
We deeply appreciate our volunteers. Seven Oaks Retreat Center thrives with volunteer support. Your contributions of time, unique skills, and most importantly, your practice which flows through it all keeps our community alive and present. Our volunteers and staff work together to ensure that all guests experience Seven Oaks Retreat Center as a refuge for wisdom, compassion, and mindful living. Our volunteer needs range from assistance with housekeeping and meal preparation, to trail maintenance, garden care, and special projects to beautify and maintain our campus. While serving as a member of our team, all our volunteers’ needs are met: meals, lodging, and opportunities for meditation practice.
All of our programs at Seven Oaks are supported in part through dana, which is the ancient Pali word for generosity. Buddhist practitioners give dana to express support for their teachers and their communities as well as a way of inclining the heart towards generosity in all its forms. The gift of your time as a volunteer is one profound way to express dana for the land that Seven Oaks rests on, the practitioners, staff, teachers, and donors who make up our spiritual community, and the precious gifts of the dharma.
Volunteers will undergo an interview and training process to ensure clear understanding of roles and a positive volunteer experience.
Seven Oaks Retreat Center is committed to creating an inclusive community of individuals of different backgrounds, gender identities, races, sexual orientations, abilities, and ages.
